Rainy Downtown Seattle Elopement | Gurneha + Prithvi
Gurneha and Prithvi first reached out to me when they started planning out their downtown Seattle elopement. They already had a full wedding celebration planned for their friends and family back in India for the spring, but they knew that they also wanted to document getting their marriage license here at home in Seattle. They were dreaming of city vibes and knew they wanted to be downtown. As I waited in Pioneer Square to meet them, the skies opened up and it started to pour. I had brought umbrellas, but nothing really prepared us for the heaviness of this downpour. Luckily, they were willing to brave the weather and move ahead with our shoot, so we started walking around (a now empty) occidental square. After making the most of the streets and alleys (in the coolest beaded fringe), we made our way up for rooftop portraits where Gurneha changed into a beautiful wedding dress + broke out the cutest heart sunglasses to pop some champagne. I love champagne sprays - whether they go as planned or not, they always end in laughter (and I almost always end up soaked no matter how fast I dodge.) Finally, we made our way to the waterfront to meet their officiant for the ceremony. They said their I do’s with their two friends as witnesses, and signed their license in front of the misty view of city and sea. These two were such good sports, and despite the cold and wet, they made the best of their elopement day and it shines through in the photos! Congratulations Gurneha + Prithvi
